Style Icon: Lady Mary Crawley

Lady Mary Crawley: Girl can sure ride a horse.

She also does an excellent job wearing hats.

Seriously. She's really, really good at wearing hats.

Like, so good at it. (She's good at wearing pearls too. And little white gloves. Oh, Lady Mary Crawley, you are so very proper and feminine.)

The details of all her outfits KILL me. You can watch this show just for the fashion.

She can be so cranky and cutting, but she always looks so amazing while saying rather biting things. I admit to being behind on my watching. I binge on it on Netflix and then don't watch it until another season shows up. I do sort of keep up with it via the Internet and spoil everything for myself. I don't know why. I can't help it. The twists! The turns! I want to know what's up! While I might know some major plot points, the fashion still stays a pleasant surprise!

Gaaah...I think I'm the only one who doesn't watch this show.

PS That first pic is just beautiful.

I kind of stopped watching after the 2nd season. I might do a huge binge and catch up one day. She is seriously so pretty and her outfits are incredible! I'm going to go to The Biltmore soon and check out the Dressing Downtown exhibition!

She is so slender and has such a long neck too which helps with the overall feeling of elegance.
I read a blog recently where someone went to an exhibition of some of the costumes. Some clothing they wear is the genuine thing from the 1920s.

You are right. She is really good at wearing hats! I have one like that first one (pale blue band) but it is brown banded instead! Did you know that Michelle played Eliza Dolittle in Pygmallion and of course, she has her Ascot moment so I think she has had a good crack at hat wearing in her career. I used to go to school with her and she is a really nice girl. x

Oh you do have to catch up. Perhaps while feeding Thomas. It's up to the 1920's now and the clothes just keep getting better and better.

Guess what? I started out loving Mary Crawley and now I cringe at her snooty Brit drawl. Everything sounds the same. I suspect it's just me... I still adore her hats and dresses and jewels.
