I dug these books, but then I discovered Nancy Drew Files, which were way more exciting. There was sordid romance! There were perilous situations on every page! Nancy almost died on the regular! It was thrill ride after thrill ride, I tell you what.
Whether it was prim Nancy Drew or sassy Nancy Drew, she always looked hella-fabulous on the book covers. And so I say: Nancy Drew is a style icon no matter what the era.

She looks a bit like Anne Margaret in both these cover images! I've never acually read any Nancy Drew books though.
Hear hear. My older sis and I grew up reading the Nancy Drew series, and we both wanted to have our own Neds:P I must say I've never seen the movie with Emma Roberts though....
Ha! I love both the classic and the 80s Nancy, too! I've tried to get my students interested in the latest reworking, Nancy and friends as kids solving mysteries.
I have never heard about the ND files, but I LOVED the mysteries when I was younger.

I was really into Nancy Drew, but I didn't know about the Nancy Drew Files?! I also loved The Bobsey Twins, along with Enid Blytons Famous Five and Secret Seven series...X
nancy drew books weren't really that big in aus, but i agree, she's got kicking good style!
Such a classic :)
Haha I know exactly what you mean! I felt like my life truly began when I discovered "the files." Then those old Nancy Drew books were history. My favorite was this one called Rendezvous in Rome. I don't remember what it was about, but I loved the cover because there was a hot guy on it.
