Maggie Smith

Maggie Smith wins at life.

Her best roles in my humble opinion are:

The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie

As Miss Brodie, she was young(ish), beautiful and in her prime playing a saucy teacher. You gotta love it.

A Room with a View

This is one of my top five movies, and Maggie Smith is so delightfully uptight in it as Charlotte Bartlett. (And it's really not easy to be delightfully uptight.)

Harry Potter

Don't mess with Professor McGonagall. She is tough stuff.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

Muriel Donnelly is a racist retiree who finds herself in India. Her character starts out terrible, but goes through a change that's great to watch.

Downtown Abbey

She is perfect as the Dowager Countess. Acid tongued and pragmatic, she's so fun to watch.

Agree? Disagree? Have I left someone out?

I haven't seen any HP films properly but I'm sure she is such a facbulous in them as everything else.
How about Evil Under the Sun, I love her hotel owner character in that.
