Style Icon: Clementine

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is maybe the perfect, sad romance. I think it is the best story about the beauty of a bad relationship -- how being in love never feels wrong, how you never, ever regret it. When you break up with someone (or when they break up with you), you do want to wipe your mind of all the memories because it's those beautiful memories that hurt so much. But, of course, you don't really want to wipe them out. That's the lesson, right? You'd do it all over again.

But I'm rambling here. I really meant this post to be about Clementine's mad style.

Her style is sloppy, which I love. She also looks comfortable in her big orange sweater and long gloves, and she loves COLOR. Clearly, and we love her for loving color.

I liker her ever changing hair colors. Those braids make me want to grow my hair out.

Clementine is also blessed with that exquisitely beautiful Kate-Winslet face. (Did you know Kate Winslet married a dude who had his name legally changed to Rocknroll in real life? Just a little trivia for you there.)

Color. Tank tops. Cleavage. Over-sharing. Bracelets. Messiness. These are all part of Clementine's charm.

Above is my favorite Clementine look, and such a great moment. Jim Cary is pretty cute in this movie as well. I think I had a coat like Clementine's back in the '80s when I was a kid. She looks so fun and cute. Sprightly. Oh my darling Clementine, how we do love you.

Oh yeah. This is a fantastic movie. Right after I saw it I ran right out and bought a hunter orange sweatshirt. Just like you I take a lot of my fashion cues from movies. Does that mean I live in a fantasy world? Ohhhh I hope so! Luvya!

This is such a great film and despite the dishevelled look, I really wanted blue hair afterwards :)

I had forgotten what unique style Kate Winslet had as Clementine in this movie. I've always loved her blue hair - not just anyone can pull that off, but when someone does, it looks incredible!

I had a friend who went through great lengths to BECOME Clementine because she felt the character was sooooo her. She bought a bright orange jacket, striped wrist warmers, string tied backpack and had me dye her hair fire engine red then orange then blue. She was obsessed!
