Butterfield 8
Apparently Elizabeth Taylor wasn't too excited about being in "Butterfield 8." She was already seen as a floozy by the public after stealing girl-next-door Debbie Reynold's man, and now she was going to play a loose woman (For a good time call Butterfield 8!). While she wasn't happy about the movie at first, she ended up winning an Oscar for her performance.
I actually read the book and found it pretty terrible. The movie, on the other hand, is pretty great. I'm a sucker for anything where Elizabeth Taylor flashes her violet eyes, has giant hair and gets involved with the wrong men. That's just good cinema.

Elizabeth Taylor was wonderful!
I enjoyed this movie too :)
This is another movie I haven't seen!
There was a 2 hour documentary about her and Burton and the making of Cleopatra on BBC the other week which we've got taped.

we love Elizabeth!
It's hard to explain to today's kids how big Liz was. She dominated American film and culture. And not just by her beauty. Her life, with its endless ups and downs, began celebrity-culture.
I wonder how many people today realize that telephone numbers used to begin this way.
This is one of my absolute favorite movies!
"I'm a sucker for anything where Elizabeth Taylor flashes her violet eyes, has giant hair and gets involved with the wrong men. That's just good cinema." Accurate.
