Mmkay, "How to Marry a Millionaire" is about as shallow as it sounds, but, really, in the end, its message is that you should marry for love, not money. (And if you marry for love, you might be rewarded with surprise money!)
The most obvious reason to see this movie is its cast -- Betty Grable, Lauren Bacall and Marilyn Monroe. Hello Gorgeous-es!
A less obvious reason to see this movie is that Marilyn spends much of it bespectacled, and I adore bombshells who wear glasses (and, yes, the men still make passes).
Isn't that above picture just so Sex and the City? The movie is about fabulous looking women wearing fabulous clothes hanging out with their friends and chasing/ complaining about men. Some things never change, huh?
Also Marilyn wears a bejeweled swimsuit and clear plastic heels. So it has that going for it.
In the movie, Lauren Bacall is the prickly, intelligent one, Marilyn Monroe is the sweet, not-so-bright one and Betty Grable is somewhere in the middle. (There's also some men in the movie as the whole plot revolves around landing a millionaire, but they're pretty forgettable.) It's a fun, frothy movie, the perfect thing to watch when you're drinking something bubbly.

You are right. It's so Sex and the City, but with much more style, if you know what I mean. Isn't that a gorgeous dress Lauren Bacall wears in the first pic? Oh and those clear plastic heels of Marilyn. Wow! They are so stylish. Want them!
Have a lovely weekend.

There are also some men in the movie, lol. I would watch this for the actresses too.

I just watched this a few weeks ago :)
I adore this movie : )
This is one of my favorite movies...mostly purely because of the gorgeous dresses and 1950's fashion...ahhhh droolworthy!
I also adore Bacall, she is magnificent always <3
When I found out in 8th grade that I had to wear glasses, the first thing I thought about was Marilyn Monroe in this film. I got the pretty much the same glasses but I looked more like a nerd than a bombshell. Oh well....
I must admit I've never seen that movie. Heard of it, of course. And who doesn't love Marilyn? :)
Love this film, it's one of my favorites. So many funny moments and the "reward" money at the end is classic!
